The Boats
The Club Currently owns 2 hardboats and 1 rib + supporting inflatables
From
it's very beginning the club has used hard boats. There are tales of
very early expeditions in an open top converted fishing boat with a
15hp Seagull. Sea Urchin was a converted ships lifeboat. Tudor II saw
service from the mid 70s to 1986. The picture of Brunel shows one of
Tony Bullimore's previous, (and tragic) capsizes. His trimaran 'Spirit
of Apricot' pitch poled in the Channel off Ilfracombe and one crew
member drowned. We assisted in clearing the stays from the mast so she
could be towed in.
