Whilst on a recient trip to the scillies our good man Trevor Karslake unfortunatly suffered a bend and was taken care of br the good people over at the DDRC.

Trev's Story....
The Scillies week was outstanding the weather, the food, the company and of course the diving..
and above all VERY EDUCATIONAL..

Midweek I was struck by a spinal bend !!
As a BSAC instructor i can tell you that my buddy and I had a yet another excellent dive and was ascending to surface when i was struck with what seemed like stomack trouble i did'nt panic, remained calm and continued to surface in a orderly fashion compleating all decompression stops etc.
Once upon the boat i indicated to the skipper that i was in pain.
I was promptly returned to shore were a ambulance was awaiting our arrival and was wisked off to St Marys Hospital and upon examination it was decided to fly me out to DDRC for decompression.
The results from DDRC was that dehidration may have played a part and to many deep dives in a short time span causing a build up .
My buddy and I had no errors on our dive computers and prior to the incedent all dive's were to exacting BSAC standards.

I Trevor Karslake am very gratefull to the DDRC team,
for their fantastic help, understanding and high level of care.

I am making a collection in support for their work so if you could please donate just a little something,
as you never know if may be you next .
Thankyou

There is a collection point in the club house or you can make a donation online here

This just goes to prove that no matter how good a diver you are,
you never know when you may need proffessional assistance.
