Nicola's Day on Neptune
After a funny start due to someones dive bag smoking & almost catching fire whilst getting on the boat, we set off at about 10am and headed off for our day of local diving. Mags, Steve, Matin, Chrissie and Piers went to dive a deep wreck and myself Yvone and Jack stayed aboard waiting for treasure from the .Carare wreck that i believe Ilfracombe Sub Aqua club owns.
We then headed back to shallower water to Woody Bay for my first dive, which was with Martin Davies, i did have a few problems with my ears but managed to stay down for a qualifing dive of 28 mins. We saw a Big anchor and i was amazed how much clearer it is now compared to my last dive here a few weeks ago. Although i seem to be golbing my air im feeling like ive come a long way. I was then asked if i wanted to dive the George Lockett and i said that i wasnt that bothered as i had already put all my kit away and was feeling very tired. But after a short while I thought NO! I won't be lazy I will go and explore. So I got myself and my kit together and then off we went my buddie was Martin again and we entered the water & went down the shot line, my ears were a lot better this time and when we got down to the bottom we saw Jack & Mags and Mr Crab.... he he, which ended up in Martins goody bag (see picture below). Jack took Mr crab him home with him for his wife to cook, poor thing!!. I am so happy that I dived this wreck as I saw lots and I wasn't making my self as dizzy as i was on my first dive by constantly circling around Martin! It was a great experience and we are very lucky to have the George Lockett on our door step. We went back to the club house afterwards for a couple of sangrias and then polished off the night with a nice chineese in the club.
Thank you everyone for making my day such a memorable one. I am happy to be a member. Nicola Draper 06.06.10
